Denver Summit Lacrosse really values team building and skill development together. Each age group partakes in a tryout process ONCE a year, typically at the end of August. This team is the standing team for that full year until the next June. Teams participate in practices and tournaments throughout the year and their time with Denver Summit concludes at the end of June or early July each year.

Currently, Denver Summit has 7 teams determined by the high school graduation year of the players:

  • 2013- current Juniors
  • 2014- (2 teams) current Sophomores
  • 2015- (2 teams) current Freshmen
  • 2016- current 8th Graders
  • 2017/2018-current 6th and 7th graders

Denver Summit Coaches are some of the best in Colorado and they are assisted by several current DU Pioneer players. The coaches try to not only reinfore the basic skills invovled in lacrosse while also trying to push the development of each individual.

Our Mission

Denver Summit Lacrosse is an organization founded on the principle of providing Colorado’s young female athletes with a lasting foundation of knowledge and skill needed for a growing and exciting lacrosse experience. Denver Summit Lacrosse will focus on developing of 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th grade players’ individual skill growth, and providing opportunities to compete with and against top local and regional talent. Denver Summit Lacrosse is ideal for any player who has the desire to advance her skills and who wishes to contribute to her team at all levels: youth, high school, club, or college.

Coaching Staff: Denver Summit Lacrosse was founded by the University of Denver Women’s Lacrosse coaching staff: Head Coach Liza Kelly, and Assistant Coaches Rachel Shuck, and Colorado native, Devon Wills. Combined these women have experience with top Division I programs, NCAA tournaments, NCAA Championships, US National Teams, and most notably, the 2009 gold medal winning US World Cup Team in Prague. Additional Denver Summit coaches will include current and former Division I and III players from several elite institutions across the country. From this depth of experience, our staff can provide prospective college players with insight into the many facets of the college process, from recruiting through the daily life of a student-athlete. Players from the current DU lacrosse team will also be actively coaching each Summit Team.

Denver Summit Lacrosse declared its focus to be teaching. We strive to provide players with the highest level of lacrosse instruction through ample playing experience, competition, and most importantly, fun. The combination of demanding practices and three highly competitive tournaments will help Denver Summit Lacrosse players to master the fundamentals and enhance their play throughout the calendar year.

We at Denver Summit Lacrosse aim to build upon each individual player’s knowledge as they progress through all levels of youth and high school lacrosse in Colorado!
